AFFLINK Helped Business Partners Get Fit at ISSA/DistriPak in Orlando

You couldn’t find any donuts at AFFLINK’s ISSA booth—only healthy snacks to promote AFFLINK’s Healthy Business campaign. The leading sales and marketing group in the industry exhibited at the annual ISSA/Interclean and DistriPak shows October 24-26, 2007. The theme, Build A Healthy Business, was tied throughout the events. From pre-show post-cards to shuttle-stop ads and ISSA Show Daily spotlights, AFFLINK generated record-breaking attention. The message was simple: AFFLINK is erasing the old buying group mentality, re-writing the way sales and marketing groups are seen in the industry. It isn’t just about rebates; it’s an entire value-added proposition.

AFFLINK’s booth at ISSA featured healthy snacks, water, clip-on pedometers, and even an elliptical competition to help people “get fit” and see who could burn the most calories in one minute. The winners of the competition were as follows:
• Male: John Carr of Northern Colorado Paper
• Female: Michelle Ruvola of The Standard Companies

These two fitness buffs won a Nike+iPod package, complete with an iPod Nano and Nike+ shoes. Ruvola stated, “Thanks to AFFLINK for awarding me a wonderful prize! Every step I'll take while I'm running (and I use that term loosely!) will remind me that AFFLINK continually provides Standard and other members with the tools that allow our businesses to become and stay healthy in this ultra-competitive environment.” AFFLINK also raffled off two $100 Visa Gift Cards to participants, and Neil Sullivan (Dumouchel Paper Co. of Connecticut, Inc) and Gina Thompson (JanPak, Inc) were the lucky recipients.

AFFLINK also used the Healthy Business theme at the DistriPak show, promoting AFFLINK’s growing strength in packaging. Visitors enjoyed the healthy snacks and pedometers there as well, and learned what it meant to build a healthy business with AFFLINK.

Why the Healthy Business campaign? Because AFFLINK realizes that people are generally looking for better ways to improve their mental and physical wellbeing. But in order to continue performing at the highest level, you have to have the right combination of factors in place, working together to get the most out of every day. The same is true for any successful business. Playing on this health-conscious trend throughout the trade show season, AFFLINK illustrated how they provide more of the programs and services it takes to build healthy, sustainable businesses.

“Continuing education, the latest technology, HR solutions: these are essential elements needed to create healthy businesses,” AFFLINK President, Dennis Riffer concluded. “By combining them with national account access, a broad product mix and opportunities to enter new vertical markets, AFFLINK provides the right balance of economic and value-added benefits to create more viable business partners.”

AFFLINK Honors Key Healthcare Partners

At the annual Healthcare Symposium in St. Louis on October 4, 2007, AFFLINK presented several Distributor Members and Suppliers with prestigious awards. The first day of an event filled with learning sessions and marketplace meetings concluded with a review of the year’s accomplishments. AFFLINK proudly announced the growth in business over the past twelve months, and recognized the partners who greatly contributed to that success based on criteria such as overall support of the Healthcare program and growth figures.

The Pinnacle Award, presented to the Distributor Member and Supplier of the year, went to MASSCO and SCA.

MASSCO, based in Kansas City, MO with 3 branch locations, has excelled in the healthcare arena. They quickly gained numerous healthcare accounts, and have an active member of the Healthcare Steering Committee in Tina May. “Massco is very excited about the success we have experienced with AFFLINK's SelectHealth program. We are proud to be the recipient of the Pinnacle Award, as it represents a successful collaboration between MASSCO, AFFLINK, and our valued healthcare suppliers. We believe the SelectHealth Plus program truly enhances the value we provide to our customers,” said May.

SCA Tissue North America, headquartered in Philadelphia, has been a strong supporter of the AFFLINK Healthcare program. In addition to the significant training and service SCA provides to Distributor Members and customers, they provide a valuable close-loop program through redistribution. They co-sponsor the Continuing Education Series (CES) program, as well as two Healthcare Symposium events.

“SCA is honored to receive the Pinnacle Award. It’s because of AFFLINK’s strategic vision and leadership that we strongly support their programs,” said Scott Milburn, Sr. Strategic Account Manager.

The Pursuit of Excellence Award was presented to JanPak and GOJO. These two AFFLINK partners both exemplify the true partnership spirit with AFFLINK.

JanPak, with 14 southeast facilities, works consistently to support and grow the AFFLINK healthcare program. Richard Kiley, a Steering Committee member, said, “We are honored to receive the award, especially considering the talent, dedication, and quality of our HC Distributor Member partners. AFFLINK’s Healthcare program has stepped up in a big way – and the tools it provides us help us to distinguish ourselves in that market.”

GOJO, headquartered in Akron, Ohio, has truly been a champion for the AFFLINK Healthcare program. From significant CES and Symposium sponsorships to helpful training and service, GOJO is strongly aligned with helping achieve the goals of the program. Annette Minor, Key Account Specialist, expressed, “GOJO has been with SelectHealth and EliteHealth since inception, and has seen the growing interest and participation. The programs just keep getting better and better. We are proud of the recent changes and hope that the distributors believe in the program and stay committed to it.”

Two additional Distributor Members who deserved recognition were presented the Legacy Award.

Weber Paper (Dubuque, IA) and Cole Papers (Fargo, ND) are Distributor Members who jumped on board the AFFLINK Healthcare program at the beginning and have been continuous loyal supporters. Jim Weber with Weber Paper and Mike Hubbard with Cole Papers both have participated on the Healthcare Steering Committee from the start. They make significant contributions in guiding Healthcare program improvements. They also both continue to show strong growth in their respective markets.

AFFLINK appreciates the dedication of its healthcare partners and looks forward to more growth and progress in the future.

Tuscaloosa, Ala. - AFFLINK, the leading sales and marketing organization in the industry, has been recognized by Georgia-Pacific Commercial Products as a recipient of the Company’s prestigious President’s Club Award.

A new venture that Associated Packaging recently seized was joining the AFFLINK organization. Having not been affiliated with any other marketing group in the past, Miller says that Associated chose to partner with AFFLINK because of its current push in the Packaging industry.

“Associated and AFFLINK are in similar positions of business evolution,” says Anderson. “Each has been very successful over the years, and is now changing the landscape of their respective markets in order to continue leading into the future. For that, we’re excited about what Associated is bringing to our organization. Their inclusion substantiates our ongoing efforts to build a world-class Packaging organization.”
